I'm playing the Sims 3 on my new laptop and trying out the Future expansion pack where you can have robots that are basically Sims. Your sim that learns how to build robots can build chips to equip them with that are made of various collectibles and parts you can get from building nanites, and you can make better nanites and better chips the higher your Bot Building skill is. Hold on, this is relevant, don't worry.
So I make a sim (the game rewards me with a randomized twink with a beauty mark) that I create to build Plumbots, with the intention of crafting him a computer husband of his own. I start him out with a simple wide-shouldered fembot (sadly you're required to give your robots a binary gender despite all Sims being bisexual and the Plumbots are visually unisex) that's just there to test the capabilities of Plumbots. I name her Promethea, and she grows on me because of course she does. Sure, all Sims are bisexual, Edgar here could fall for Promethea like I have.
My sim, Edgar, likes the idea of being self-employed as a Bot Builder, and apparently being self-employed is a whole rigamarole in this game. You're supposed to register at the town hall or online, but the option doesn't appear to me, so I find out he's supposed to already be making money selling Plumbots from a specialized sales kiosk that has to be in his home. Which also just means I have to make more robots! That's fine. I can just make robots to bump up Edgar's skill while he works on making Promethea Sentience and Capacity to Love chips, which are a ways off yet.
I make a nice robot out of orbs and name him Deeter, fully intending him to sell him off later when I've given him some valuable chips to make him sell for a good price. Deeter and Promethea don't need to sleep and don't charge for that long before they're good to go, so they have a lot of time to themselves while Edgar sleeps, and they don't have advanced enough chips to spend that time learning independently, creating things, etc. But what they CAN do is socialize with each other between Promethea's Friendly behavior chip and Deeter's Sense of Humor chip.
Deeter and Promethea become best friends fast, and Edgar finally completes the Capacity to Love chip. I have him equip it to Promethea, thinking that he can take it slow with her and keep Deeter around as a pal (Deeter had recently gained the ability to Have a Job, so there was reason enough to keep him around while his science career pops off).
The first. The absolute first thing Promethea does after gaining the capacity to love from her creator, is walk right over to Deeter, who still only has a "funny guy" chip and "simulated feelings", and confesses her love for him. Damn, ok!
I love robots in love just as much as robots and humans in love so I can live with this, but there's trouble in paradise-- Deeter DOES NOT HAVE THE CAPACITY TO LOVE (yet) despite both of their relationship panels confirming them as romantic interests, so every time she tries to hold him or kiss him with her robot face, he shoves her away :( That's heartbreaking, so I make Deeter a Capacity to Love chip as well so that he can reciprocate.
Of course, I didn't manage to get all the supplies I needed together for his chip before Promethea made a pass at Edgar as well, upsetting Deeter despite literally not being equipped to feel jealousy. I demand Edgar ask Promethea to just be friends despite all my original plans, finish Deeter's chip, and equip him with it so that these two horny robots can clonk their faces together and moan while poor Edgar (who Deeter now despises for flirting with his girlfriend) makes ANOTHER Plumbot, Holly, to be his actual computer wife.
THIS HOWEVER, ALSO DOES NOT GO OFF WITHOUT A HITCH, because NOW DEETER IS MACKING ON HOLLY and now EVERYONE is upset (Edgar at this point brings up the wish to finally sell Deeter, but Lord if I can separate these two now that they're welded at the hip). At this point, since Deeter has a job and therefore an income, I have him move out with Promethea as soon as I finish giving them sentience so everyone can chill the fuck out!! I can only play one household at a time though so I hope those two loverbots are doing okay in whatever house that is that doesn't have any charging bays for them
TL;DR: I had a sim make a robot to love but the minute she could love anyone she fell for the other robot and they caused so much drama I had to kick them out of the house permanently

My interest has piqued 👁👁
Okay folks! Listen up!!!!!! Under the cut cuz there's a lot apologies in advance!
So, Cameron was an energetic kid, he's sweet and nice, and he lives with his huge family in a very rural area. He's the epitome of a muddy country kid. Except yknow he spends extra time at the junkyard picking up scraps to build with. He's on the robotics team, and he could build you almost anything out of scraps. He's a prodigy. So when he gets a chance to go to high school at a prestigious school in New York, obviously he's so so excited. He has to wear a stuffy uniform but that's fine! This is his chance at a real future for himself! And his family is all so proud of him! They wave him off happily as he moves up to new york, with financial aid from the school.
So he starts freshman year at Prestige Tech, one of the best technical schools in the country. And that's when things go wrong. The school is assigning him project after projects, he's up all hours of the night coding, welding, wiring, anything he can do. And when he's not working he's in class, fighting off sleep as he's assigned two more projects. He's being worked to the bone, without any time to care for himself. And yet the school still expects him to keep up appearances and look presentable, so eventually he just gives up on even changing out of his uniform, and he doesn't have any free time to socialize or make friends or anything. He's comepletely and utterly alone.
This continues for a year, before he turns in a very special robot for his final project in one of his classes. The robot can do almost anything asked of it, the only thing it lacks is a personal touch, which of course would be Cam's downfall. After having his final project turned in, Cam is granted a small respite, and he takes the opportunity to watch TV. And what does he see on the news, but the principle at his school, holding his robot in his arms, and talking as if it was his own design. And Cam stands in disbelief, grabbing the robots blueprints from his bag and looking between the two. A perfect match.
And Cam fucking snaps. Oh? Oh they want to work me to the bone, rid me of my sleep and my time and my sanity just to parade my hard work off as their own. Fine. *Fine.* and so Cam ditches school for the next two weeks, spending all that time using his unbridled rage to build his mech suit from the ground up. And when it's finally time, he breaks into the building, checking for any late night stragglers, and going so far as to set the principle's office ablaze. He's gone before anyone can spot him, and if the rest of the building is singed that's not his problem anymore is it. And still riding on the coattails of his revenge, he buzzes his mohawk out of his previously long hair. (Seen below)
And so after that experience, Cam's previous excitement and wonder about the city has been comepletely snuffed. He's now sullen and pessimistic, and overall miserable. And, dejected and pathetic, he enrolls to April's school. And because of his lack of social contact for a year, plus his overall assholeish demeanor, he makes 0 friends. And bc of how proud his family was of him, he's too ashamed to tell them the truth when they call, so his family still thinks he's being a little genius at the school.
And after his revenge, he isn't sure what to do with his suit, so, out of pure spite and resentment, he starts doing criminal work, theiving and such, for fun. And that's how he meets Donnie and the turtles.
Artwork by Me <3 and obv credit to @morilicious for going back and forth on a lot of this stuff ^v^

The Robots are Coming
By Kyle Dargan
with clear-cased woofers for heads,
no eyes. They see us as a bat sees
a mosquito—a fleshy echo,
a morsel of sound. You've heard
their intergalactic tour busses
purring at our stratosphere's curb.
They await counterintelligence
transmissions from our laptops
and our blue teeth, await word
of humanity's critical mass,
our ripening. How many times
have we dreamed it this way:
the Age of the Machines,
postindustrial terrors whose
tempered paws—five welded fingers
—wrench back our roofs,
siderophilic tongues seeking blood,
licking the crumbs of us from our beds.
O, great nation, it won't be pretty.
What land will we now barter
for our lives ? A treaty inked
in advance of the metal ones' footfall.
Give them Gary. Give them Detroit,
Pittsburgh, Braddock—those forgotten
nurseries of girders and axels.
Tell the machines we honor their dead,
distant cousins. Tell them
we tendered those cities to repose
out of respect for welded steel's
bygone era. Tell them Ford
and Carnegie were giant men, that war
glazed their palms with gold.
Tell them we soft beings mourn
manufacture's death as our own.

Could you do a fic where High tide finds out how bad M.E.C.H is after Optimus shows up on the deck of his ship because the ground bridge is down and High tide is the closest, I don't see much of him so I wanted to ask
I’d love to! High Tide is a fun character, first impressions aside, and I always wished the show gave a little more on his relationship with Optimus. I understand why they didn’t, but hey, I can dream!
———————————————————————————————————
When Optimus Prime sent High Tide a comm. message asking him to dock his boat at a specific set of coordinates so he could board, and to be prepared to make a very quick getaway, High Tide’s battle protocols flared to life. They hadn’t activated since coming to Earth, since he didn’t need them when it came to working with that team of bitty younglings, and he certainly didn’t need them for his secondary mission given to him by the Prime, which was to scout Earth’s oceans for energon and mine and gather as much as he could. So when the familiar protocols roared to the forefront of his processor, it was easy to have his ship shift into its battle form, which involved the side narrowing a slight bit and a very large amount of weaponry unfolding from various parts of the boat or humming to life in hidden turrets. He easily did as his old friend asked, expecting that the Prime was facing Deceptions and possibly injured, and that’s why he needed a rescue and an escape route and not a battle assist.
Optimus Prime was indeed injured as he ran onto the ship, limping heavily, but High Tide caught no Decepticon signals on his sensors. His battle protocols whirled, trying to calculate what was going on and attempting to lock onto a target for High Tide fo fight. Still, he did as he had originally been asked and as soon as Optimus was on board he had the ship leaving and heading towards open waters. His processor still whirling with the urge to fight, the soldier grabbed his field first aid kit and went to help his commander patch himself up. He crouched next to the large mech, who was seated on the deck of the ship, and got to work.
“So Optimus, mind tellin’ me what you were runnin’ from?” he asked, his engine rumbling with battle-lust in tandem with the rasp of his voice.
The Prime only shot him a look, easily reading his posture and understanding what was going on in his processor. “Stand down, High Tide. There will be no fight today.”
“No fight!” he growled. “I think not! What ‘Con did this to you and where are they now?” he demanded, welding shut a leaking gash in the red armor.
“It was no Deception, old friend.”
High Tide froze, his optics narrowing. “No ‘Con? Then who? Humans?”
And that’s when his long distance sensors picked up the energy signatures of approaching vehicles. Approaching earth vehicles, coming from the air. High Tide’s engine snarled in displeasure, and he shot the Prime a dark look.
“This happened cause of your insistence on not harming humans, didn’t it?” he demanded. “Optimus, your dedication to being just and sowin’ as little violence as possible is one of the reasons I follow you. It means you care about life first and foremost and that makes you a very good commander. But sometimes, you take it too far!”
He sent the command to his ship to activate long-range weapons. He’d shoot the little insects out of the sky. Optimus obviously that saw the weapons on deck engaging and locking onto currently unseen targets, because he locked a hand around High Tide’s wrist.
“High Tide, do not!” he ordered.
The submarine glared at the Prime. “Tell me who they are, Optimus. I need an explanation.”
Optimus sighed. “They call themselves M.E.C.H. They are a human terrorist organization whose goal is to possess and control the most powerful and advanced technologies on the planet.”
High Tide narrowed his optics. “And right now, that’s us.”
A nod was his only reply.
“So they’re hunting Cybertronians, then? Why?”
Optimus hesitated before he answered, before he decided it might be best if his friend knew the whole story so he could understand the dangers. “They wish to cut one of us open and take them apart in order to figure out how we work. They want to create one of us themselves, on that is sparkless and mindless and follows only their commands.”
High Tide went rigid, and that was when the helicopters broke cloud cover and started barking down on the ship. He snarled, and his ship’s weapons began powering up.
“High Tide!” Optimus protested. “I said-!”
“I heard you the first time, Optimus.” High Tide said coldly. “And normally, I’d follow your orders. But you forget one thing: my primary duty as your soldier is to ensure you survive. So if I have to disobey your order to ensure you do, so be it.” He strode to the edge of the deck, gaze locking on the helicopters.
One of them stopped to hover closer to the water, and High Tide turned a cold glare onto it. “I suggest you and yours leave, little human.” he rumbled. “My ship has the firepower to take down a Decepticon war vessel.”
The apparent leader, a human with silver hair and a facial scar, only chuckled. “I think not. You robots are so squeamish about taking human lives. And besides, you’ll find that we are more than capable of handing a little heavy weaponry. We’ll come away from this endeavor with two prizes and a warship, it seems. How lovely.”
High Tide only bared his teeth in a savage grin. “I think you’ll find I have far fewer reservations about killin’ you little bugs than my commander.” he said coldly, and his ship fired. A high powered blaster bolt hit one of the other copters, blowing it to pieces and sending the wreckage falling into the sea below.
The human was obviously startled by the show, and he narrowed his eyes at the large blue Autobot. “So I see.” he said darkly.
High Tide could almost see him getting ready to give an order to attack, so he sent the ship another command. There was more fire, and then all the helicopter’s except the one in charge were nothing but flaming wreckage falling from the sky.
“Leave.” he snarled. “Last chance.”
The human narrowed his eyes, glaring, before nodding at the pilot next to him and then the helicopter was leaving, flying away and into the clouds. High Tide only relaxed when his long range sensors pinged back telling him they had left, and then he returned to his friend. His battle protocols started to cycle down, and the harsh glow of his optics lessened.
“High Tide…” Optimus sounded pained.
“I’m not going to apologize, Prime.” he said stiffly, returning to fixing up his commander. “I admire your desire for peace, I really do. But sometimes, the peaceful solution won’t work. You can’t just let them hunt you down like that. What if your refusal to fight back or let your team fight back means you lose another bot? What happens if those slag-heaps find the Rescue Bots?” he demanded.
Optimus winced, looking away. “It is wrong to use our might to kill so easily.”
“It is.” High Tide agreed. “But they weren’t non-threats, Optimus. If you keep letting them hunt you down without fightin’ back, then one of these days someone is going to suffer grievously at their hands, and with how determined all your team is to protect you…it won’t be you.” he said seriously.
Optimus was silent as High Tide finished, only looking up when the submarine stood and put the kit away. “You are right, of course.” he sounded exhausted. “But…”
“You don’t want to compromise another piece of your spark.” High Tide heaved a sigh. “I get it, Optimus. I really do. So I won’t say anythin’ about your decisions when it comes to you alone fightin’ them. But know this: I refuse to bow down and run from those humans. If they come after me, I will fight back and take out as many as I must. What happens if Blurr or Salvage are with me when they attack, Prime? Am I supposed to run and let those monsters have a chance at hurtin’ young bots who haven’t ever fought in the War?”
“…no. No, you are right, High Tide.” he heaved a sigh. “I will not protest your choices, and I thank you for your aid and for protecting me.”
High Tide relaxed, and finally let his ship return to its normal form. “I understand you, Optimus. We might disagree sometimes, but at the end of the day you’re still my friend and I will follow you, wherever this War takes us.”
Optimus shot him a tired, warm smile. “Thank you, old friend. I do not deserve such devoted loyalty from you, but I’m glad to have it nonetheless.”
High Tide grinned, clapping him on the shoulder. “Of course, Prime. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
———————————————————————————————————
Here we are! Shorter than my usual fics, but I hope you like it nonetheless!
Silas just got a very harsh lesson that not all the ‘bots will be hesitant about using lethal force. He’ll be more wary around them from here on out! And Optimus is just tired of the War and violence and death. He doesn’t want more violence, but sometimes it’s the only way to stay alive. Poor guy.
Until next time, folks!

Irondad Drabble #2: Peter comes up with better tech than Tony and makes him proud
For @impossiblyobvioushideout. Apologies in advance because I’m not as smart as Tony or Peter so I have no idea what they would make in the lab hah! Hope you enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~
Tony had always known that Peter was a genius from that day he first analysed those iconic, spidery webs. The chemical make up alone had been enough to display his intelligence, and meeting the boy only solidified Tony’s suspicions. With scraps from the dumpster and a high school chemistry lab, Peter had been able to create more impressive inventions than many of the scientists at S.I., and Tony could only imagine what he could make with the right materials.
So he’d slowly given the teen more and more freedom in his lab as the months went by. Instead of focusing solely on suit upgrades, Peter began to tinker around with spare robotics and car engines and chemicals that Tony occasionally let him use. He even began a secret project of his own which -much to Tony’s chagrin- he wouldn’t share any details about until he was sure it was ready. May said he was just being a perfectionist, but Tony had a feeling it had more to do with tormenting his poor, curious mentor for the fun of it. The devilish smirk that appeared on Peter’s face whenever he shooed Tony away from the desk only seemed to confirm his suspicions.
But eventually Tony gave up on his investigation and left Peter to his devices. He was a smart kid, and Tony knew he wouldn’t do anything too dangerous.
Maybe just… slightly dangerous, if they were lucky.
But when Peter excitedly dragged him over to his corner of the lab one day for the grand reveal, Tony really shouldn’t have expected anything less than incredible from his young protégé. And still he found his eyes widening in complete and utter shock as Peter dragged the sheet aside with a dramatic twirl, leaving Tony face to face with a figure of patchwork metal and a warm, glowing gaze.
“Hello Mr Stark,” a kind voice shrilled. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Tony blinked. “Is… is that what I think it is?”
From the corner of his vision he could see Peter nodding eagerly, jumping forward to say “Yep! Her name’s Leia, and she’s… well, to put it simply, she’s a medical droid.”
“You made a nurse?” Tony asked.
“Essentially, yeah!” Peter smiled. “She has an inbuilt AI with over 200 emergency procedure protocols, scanners, temperature sensitive hands, bandage dispensers, and an ECG for heart attacks.”
Tony stepped closer to the humanoid figure of metal and stared in awe at the craftsmanship. Everything was so distinctly Peter, from the welding to the patchwork to the mismatch collection of parts. It was so unique, so utterly charming, and Tony found himself gaping at the sheer intricacy of the robot. The medical robot, no less.
Tony glanced over at Peter with a beaming smile, wondering how he got so lucky to have a kid as smart as him.
“Your oxytocin levels seem to have spiked,” the bot, Leia, announced.
“Ooh, she reads minds too?”
“Only your chemical readings, Mr Stark,” Leia chimed back. “And my readings show that you are very happy indeed.”
“Well, how can I not be when my intern made something as incredible as you?” Tony said proudly, doing once last glance over the bot before turning to the blushing teen with a smile. “Kid this is… wow, this is really something.”
“You like it?” he asked, glancing down at his feet meekly.
Tony thought about how difficult it was to create an independent, functioning drone, let alone coding an AI to drive it. He thought about all the people that needed medical attention but couldn’t reach it, or the lives that could be saved by having something like Leia close by in an emergency. Then he thought about how Peter Parker, a sixteen year old genius with a heart of gold, had created it with the intention to help others, just like he always did.
And Tony smiled, knowing that the world was lucky to have a soul as beautiful and selfless as Peter in it to guide them into the future.
“She’s amazing Roo,” Tony hummed as he dragged the boy into a tight embrace. “Just like you.”
Genji Heavy Industries (Part 3) Rolling Twenties
I don’t think anyone likes Mingfei Lu who just plays the game and doesn’t understand his background. So it makes sense that the MC would get irritated by him too.
The rumbling sound of the subway came from directly above, and ahead was the giant water turbine with a diameter of more than three meters. The sewer had become as wide as an underground river by this point, and the still water became turbulent. Rolling white waves bounced between the paddles with a thunderous sound. The water turbine was pumping a huge amount of water into the Iron Dome Shrine.
"How do we get past?" Lu Mingfei looked up at the sharp paddles, each almost two meters long and cast in fine steel, which could easily cut off floating objects such as aquatic plants.
"The water turbine doesn't always turn, and when it stops we'll get through between the holes in the grate." Chu Zihang said.
"But when will it stop?"
"It's already starting to slow down."
The turbine was really slowing down, and it took a few minutes before it slowly stopped, water clattering down from the paddles.
"Go now!" Caesar bellowed.
You all climbed up the iron ladder on the side of the turbine and ran through the stainless steel grate. You hold on tight to Caesar and press your head down to make yourself as small as possible. You squeeze your eyes shut, trusting in his speed to get you through.
You slide down the smooth walls of the ducts and look up at the emptiness overhead. You couldn’t help but feel that the Iron Dome Temple was really a miracle in the history of engineering. This is probably the most advanced sewer system in the world, fully automated, with layers of cleaning nets intercepting the dirt in the water, giant mechanical arms shoveling up the sediment and dirt that has settled to the bottom of the pipe and sending it to the drainage tank high above, and intelligent robots sliding along the grooves in the pipe wall to maintain the machinery inside the pipe. Although there are iron ladders and walkways for maintenance on the walls of the pipes, the Iron Dome Shrine will not require manual maintenance for twenty years according to the design standards of the Maruyama Construction Institute.
The familiar sound of electric welding echoed through the pipes.
"Did you hear that? Over there is the underground dock of the Iwarui Institute. The sound of welding indicates that someone is repairing the equipment.” Caesar lowered his voice, "There are at least twenty people over there, twenty heavily armed men, so no one can speak loudly from now on. Our voices will echo and amplified in the pipes and can travel a long way."
You notice the gold tint of Caesar’s pupils. Without a word he had already sent out his Spirit Word, Scythe Itachi, and was listening far down into the channel.
"I'm really a little afraid I can't control myself," whispered Lu Mingfei, "I want to talk when I'm nervous, like I'll be suffocated if I don't."
"Use this," Caesar fished out four lollipops from his trench coat pocket, giving one to Lu Mingfei and one to Chu Zihang, "Put it in your mouth so you don't subconsciously shout out, but also to replenish your blood sugar."
He hands one to you and you take it. Being quiet was never an  issue with you. The nurses at Black Swan Bay gave vicious glares to children who so much as whimpered in pain. So if Caesar asked you to be quiet, your strict training in obedience in this regard subconsciously came into play and you wouldn’t speak again unless given express permission to do so.
"Boss, can I exchange the mint flavored one with you?"
"You're too late," Caesar threw the green lollipop into his mouth, "and start shutting up now, someone is coming this way!"
A dozen seconds later, there were footsteps from high above. It was a black-clad guard, whose bony hands could be seen through his transparent raincoat pressing down on his sidearm. He was obviously not a policeman. No policeman would use a Colt "King Cobra". This large caliber revolver is expensive and deadly. It's the kind of gun that mobsters like. They see people as prey, and they're all about killing them in one shot. The four of you hid in the shadows against the wall of the tube and looked up through the iron grille as the beating feet of the guards in their leather shoes stepped over your heads and faded away.
"Those twenty heavily armed guards are all of this mob killer level, right?" Lu Mingfei mumbled.
You catch his gaze with your wide eyed stare. What about ‘Shut up’ did he not understand? Channeled through you is the fury of the nurses of Black Swan Bay. You pierced Mingfei Lu with a silent threat so certain that the young man visibly paled. You raise a shaking finger to your lips and silently mouth the word, “Quiet!”
 Chu Zihang glanced at Caesar, who shook his head, meaning that this level of security was difficult to break through by force.
"What about fire suppression? You have enough bullets now. How many targets can you take care of at once?" Chu Zihang asked. Since you were still riding Caesar, you could be privy to their whispered conversation even over the sound of the water.
"Three to five targets would not be a problem. At most you can solve six, even if you add your two Uzis, the three of us would be five guns against twenty guns. And we still do not know how many are hybrids here." Caesar said, "It's not as simple as dealing with gangsters."
"Uh did you count me?" Lu Mingfei said.
Caesar gave him a brief dismissive glance. "You don't count. You said so yourself, you’re a civilian."
You’re so annoyed with him you can’t even laugh.
All three men were silent. Just approaching the door of Genji Heavy Industry, the way forward was completely blocked. In Black Swan Bay you faced similar odds. Renata raised her machine gun to the sky and blasted away nearly a dozen people. But in the end, she was killed and only managed to save one person. Twenty is too many.
"Maybe we should go back to the store. We ordered so much champagne. We can drink champagne while ordering some late night snacks to eat, and think about whether there is another way to get in here." Lu Mingfei cautiously proposed.
“MC,” Caesar’s whisper was extremely quiet. “Your nails.”
You were so annoyed with Mingfei that you didn’t notice that you were digging your nails into Caesar’s collarbone.  You relax your hands. “We should have left him.” You breathe out into his ear.
“It’s okay.” You don’t even hear the whisper, you only see his mouth move.
 Chu Zihang pointed to the front of the pipe.
The stream suddenly parted in the middle, and something cigar-shaped floated up on the water about six or seven meters in length and no more than two meters in diameter. It left a white wake as it sailed towards the Iwarui Institute's shipyard.
"A miniature submarine of the Hydra!" Lu Mingfei remembered that Chisei had admitted that the Hydra family used the pipes to transport contraband. The cargo ship placed the contraband on the unmanned mini-submarine before entering the port, and the submarine arrived below the Genji Heavy Industries along the sewer.
"Come closer and be careful not to make a sound." Caesar tiptoed ahead.
Beeps shook the section of pipe, guards blew their whistles and called out to run to the dock from all sides. The submarine slid into the dock and a crane lifted it up in the air. The mechanical arm raised the huge thick metal tank from the hold, which was about two meters long and looked like an elongated barrel of crude oil. Chu Zihang and Caesar looked at each other and both shook their heads. Even with their experience, they couldn't see what cargo was there. This golden passage was obviously not for smuggling oil.
The heavy airtight door on the wall of the tube suddenly opened and out stepped a man in a white lab coat who hurried past the guards to the metal tank and disinfected it with an alcohol spray. Apparently, this cargo was important and dangerous and he couldn't let the guards touch it first. In his haste, he forgot to close the airtight door that was the only way through Genji Heavy Industries.
"Chance!" Caesar whispered.
"The guards are concentrated over at the dock, and their attention is on the metal tanks. “We'll take the yellow spiral ladder over there and go up to the airtight door. Be quick, but don't run, any echoes will be clear in this enclosed space!" Chu Zihang said in a low voice.
Before Lu Mingfei could raise an objection, Chu Zihang walked out seven or eight meters. He rarely stopped to discuss with people once he made a decision, so the Executive Department all agreed that Chu Zihang is a lone wolf. Caesar silently followed. This muscle-bound man actually can be as light as a cat when walking even with you on his back. Lu Mingfei had no choice but to tiptoe behind. The maintenance tunnel is overhead. They can only step on the iron frame supporting the grated path. It would take at least a few dozen seconds to get from the starting position to the mouth of the passage. If within these few dozen seconds any one of those guards turned back to look, there would be a gun battle.
You think of Z, silent, protecting you.
Caesar and Chu Zihang's speed is extremely fast. In the twinkling of an eye, you go from the yellow ladder to the maintenance channel, and then a few meters into the airtight door. Lu Mingfei jumped a step in his rush. The crisp sound of metal hitting metal echoed in the pipe, like someone ringing a small bell.
Chu Zihang's reminder was right. When Lu Mingfei started to run, a nut was shaken off and smashed on the wall of the pipe below. The guards pulled out their guns at the same time, all of them with laser sights on them, red beams scanning in all directions. Someone turned on a powerful flashlight.
Your nails dig into Caesar again. Your heart drops.
He’s dead.
In Black Swan Bay, such errors were intolerable in training. In group training, you moved as a unit and you were careful to follow the instructions by the leaders. Any insubordination would be met with severe retraining if you were lucky. People who kept making mistakes tended to just disappear. So even though no one had fired a shot, it was as if Lu Mingfei’s mistake had marked him as dead in your mind.
Caesar and Chu Zihang quickly flashed into the airtight door.
The guards did not find anything on the maintenance channel, and turned to scan their flashlights further down. The beam gradually approaches Lu Mingfei's hiding place and Caesar lets you off his back. You back away, knowing he was about to try and rescue him. But with all that firepower you’re not sure how he was going to survive the attempt.
"There it is!" One guard yelled.
Several beams of light pointed to the water at the same time, where a long, slender black shadow was swimming! Originally, the shadow’s target was Lu Mingfei walking by the water's edge, but the bright flashlight startled it, and it immediately turned around and swam into the darkness.
Gunshots burst out, and the guards fired one after another. Whoever supplied Genji heavy industry with guards must originally have been the vicious thugs in the underworld. They have no scruples nor are they stingy with bullets. Their goal is to smash resistance with overwhelming deadly force.
Caesar’s arm came down from above and pulled Lu Mingfei up to the entrance. As soon as he’s inside, you round on him, teeth bared, and spit "You fucking idiot!” in Russian. In a moment, you raise your hand to slap him in the face, but Caesar’s arm cuts you off.
“Hey!” He hisses sharply. “Calm down.”
Cheeks red and eyes blazing, you turn back around and move next to Chu Zihang, who glances briefly at you.
"You must have undergone very strict training." He murmured
You nod.
"He hasn't. You can stay close to me. Let Caesar handle Mingfei."
The water in the pipe turned blood red and a four or five meter long white shark slowly floated up, riddled with bullet holes. You and Chu Zihang exchange glances. This is too incredible. This is the main channel of the Iron Dome Temple. The water in the pipe is five or six meters deep, and connected to the sea. The shark would have no problem moving in it, but this fierce large predator should be in open waters. What attracts it to swim into the spider web of sewers?
"You were in a leadership position before… weren't you?" Chu Zihang whispers.
You were one of the oldest in the orphanage so it was leadership by default. You bounce your head back and forth and shrug.
"Makes sense. It's why you clash with Caesar so much. And why you get along. You probably had the most powerful Speech Spirit."
You shake your head and hold up three fingers. You mouth the word, 'Third'.
Chu Zihang doesn't respond immediately. "Renata?"
You smile and hold up two fingers but then you hold a finger to your lips and slice a hand across your throat.  The conversation was enough to calm you down the rest of the way.
"Let's go. While they’re not looking." Chu Zihang said.
Caesar patted Lu Mingfei's shoulder to keep him from looking back. The white shark just now actually took Lu Mingfei as prey, but it's better not to tell Lu Mingfei about this. If he knew he was once seen as a fresh seal pup, he would probably be too scared to walk.
"Holy shit, good fucking luck, good fucking luck, good luck, good luck." When he got on the elevator Lu Mingfei was still patting his chest in celebration as well as trying to calm his extreme panic. He was shaking so much, his teeth chattered.
"No doubt. If you keep your good luck, we can rely on your luck to live." Caesar continued patting him on the shoulder and exchanged quiet glances with Chu Zihang. It was clear to everyone but Lu Mingfei that such luck could not be relied on to ever come again.
WandaVision Theory | | | BEWARE SPOILERS | | |
The Hex (or anomaly, force field, energy field or whatever you want to call it) is actually the inside of Vision’s head, brought to reality by possibly the mind gem and / or Wanda’s powers.
Tumblr media
You may remember this car from the intro of the first episode, and while many have pointed out that the number “0102” could be a reference to the Avengers Vol 1 #102, but the comics doesn’t seem to have relation to the show unless Grim Reaper (who the intro of the second episode implies that he is buried within the house) shows up to offer Vision a human body in exchange of helping him defeat the Avengers or Wanda gets kidnapped by Sentinel robots.
Others have pointed out that the “0102” happens to be a error code preluding the dreaded Red Ring of Death from the X-box 360, more specifically, that your Xbox is on verge of falling apart definitely, due to the heat, one of the main causes of the RROD, melting the welding joints and other parts of the console, causing to the console to consider the cpu, the gpu, the ram or any affected part as missing.
Tumblr media
And that bring us to Vision’s job, a popular trope in sitcoms, where there is at least one character who obviously has a job, sometimes a well paying one, but we are never explained until much later what that job actually is, like Kramer from Seinfeld, Barney from How i met your mother, or Chandler from Friends; or some twist like we know what is the character’s job within the company but we don’t know what the business itself is about like Reynholm Industries in the IT Crowd or Veridian Dynamics from Better off Ted.
So for all we know Vision’s job is “statistical analysis and data reconfiguration” because the only thing clear about it is that it’s something to do with code; so it’s pretty interesting that while Vision is shown perfectly capable of doing his job, he has no idea of what he is doing or why is he doing it, and apparently no one can give him an straight answer. Another interesting thing is why his sitcom job is something to do with computers out of all the professions.
And in episode 5, when the job computer got the SWORD email, everyone except Vision started to read the email out loud in a creepy unison hind-mind-like voice, so it’s possibly that the office is actually the physical representation of Vision’s internal circuits.
Tumblr media
So here is the thing, in the Avengers 2012 movie, there is this scene where Loki using his staff, that we know is powered by the mind gem, failed to work on Tony because of the arc reactor on his chest, and as we saw in Endgame that the gems possibly offer more power outside of their containers, like when Thanos was about to get his fingers broken by Captain Marvel so he grabbed the power gem with his other hand and punched her with it.
Tumblr media
So if the mind gem does have weird interactions with technology, and Vision being a very advanced AI in a synthetic body instead of being a flesh and bones human being, also as we have been shown in the trailers and teasers, maybe Wanda’s attempt to bring back Vision went sideways and the hex was created instead out of Vision’s conscious, Wanda’s subconscious and the power of the mind gem.
And finally, Vision doesn’t seem to have pre-Westview memories and Wanda switches between two personalities, is because unlike the rest of the town, and to continue with the simulation, Vision is the operating system, and Wanda is the administrator user; and like a real computer, it can’t know remember or know things before it was turned on the first time.
The hex turned Wanda into the one in control after reading her mind, her desires, her traumas, her subconscious, and with that information created the user Wanda, the sitcom housewife and mother that doesn’t remember anything outside of Westview and doesn’t seem to notice anything wrong, that is normally in control until the administrator access is needed to perform an action, in this case, the administrator Wanda remembers everything and will remove anything that threaten the stability of the illusion where user Wanda lives.
But like a real computer, administrator Wanda is not in control of absolutely everything, there are automated tasks but only if they are features of the operating system, like controlling the rest of the town, but it won’t do anything else unless you installed other softwares, like having children around.
Ratchet’s Medical Supplies: Speculation
AKA “an excuse to think about Bullshit Cybertronian Medicine”
Long post under the cut
The Field Medical Kit
Basic first aid tools (In this case, wrenches and stuff bc they’re robots)
A bit of liniment (A general term for pain relief ointment ie Icy Hot/Tiger Balm)
An emergency dose of Energon and equipment to administer it intravenously (while Energon could theoretically be consumed orally, in a lot of cases this may not be safe depending on the condition the patient is in, IE unconsciousness)
Some sort of tourniquet like material to hold someone over until Ratchet has the ability to actually fix broken fuel lines, probably a sheet of metal that can be welded over holes in lines.
Of course, the scanner in his arm, the torch his hand can transform into, etc.
Sick/Medical Bay
More advanced medical tools (drills, lights, the examination/treatment tube, etc)
Stasis machine (all evidence points to this basically being a sedative/anesthesia machine for bots; good for surgery or stubborn patients (Hello Optimus))
Even more liniment (These bots are constantly getting sprains and bruises so topical pain relief is a must. And lots of it)
Defrosting device (Because a frosty bot is not a safe bot)
Defibrillator (in the show, appears to be used how humans use it--sending an electrical pulse through the body to fix dangerous spark activity)
Overheating relief medication/device (Cybonic plague probably isn’t the only virus--these bots probably get nonlethal illnesses akin to colds or the flu from time to time)
Rotary buff (Aesthetics aside, probably used to buff out rough edges of surgery “scars” to prevent it catching)
Various devices to keep an eye on vitals (self explanatory)
Life support (Probably not as advanced as that on the Nemesis but it works in a pinch)
Intravenous Energon machines
The Human Box
The human box is something June probably put together for Ratchet because he obviously can’t treat humans with his devices, save maybe vital sensors. The box includes bandages, over the counter medications, IV fluid bags, menstrual hygiene products, suture materials, slings and crutches, and any other materials that June can use while she’s at base (or any other humans really, but June is the Nurse)
Collaborative Industrial Robots
Typically a robotic is distributed to a taught position numerous instances and the error is measured at every return to the position after visiting 4 different positions. Repeatability is then quantified utilizing the standard deviation of those samples in all three dimensions. A typical robot can, after all make a positional error exceeding that and that could be a problem for the method https://columbiaokura.com/products/industrial-robots/.
Tumblr media
Others in addition, machine operators usually use person interface units, typically touchscreen items, which serve as the operator management panel. The operator can change from program to program, make changes inside a program and likewise function a bunch of peripheral devices that might be integrated within the same robotic system. Advances in robotics technology also allow us to take robots from the factory flooring and make them mobile and autonomous for model new applications, such as in retail. Autonomous robots have taken grocery stores by storm in 2019, with Ahold Delhaize's introduction of Badger Technologies' robot, which is designed to improve store operations. Equipped with numerous sensors, navigation systems and cameras, the robotic navigates store aisles alongside employees and customers to scan flooring for hazardous circumstances like spills.
The industrial robots business officially took off and never appeared back. So, industrial robotic development continued to rapidly evolve, and in 1969 the Standford Arm finally led to commercial arm production. The Stanford Arm was one of the first electronically powered, computer-controlled arms. By 1974, it reached a degree of sophistication the place it could assemble a Model T water pump. Many of the most oppressive and routine office chores—those which might be dirty, dull, or dangerous—are now completely throughout the robot realm.
Events & Webinars Register to attend one of our workshops, seminars, or webinars. E-book Library E-books that can help you get started and succeed with collaborative robotic automation. Products Overview Our family of collaborative robots presents 4 completely different payload choices - three, 5, 12.5 and sixteen kg.
A robotic and a collection of machines or peripherals is referred to as a workcell, or cell. A typical cell might comprise a elements feeder, a molding machine and a robot. The varied machines are 'built-in' and controlled by a single pc or PLC. How the robotic interacts with different machines in the cell must be programmed, both with regard to their positions within the cell and synchronizing with them.
Compliance - this could be a measure of the amount in angle or distance that a robot axis will move when a drive is applied to it. Because of compliance when a robot goes to a place carrying its most payload it will be at a position slightly decrease than when it is carrying no payload. Compliance can be liable for overshoot when carrying high payloads during which case acceleration would have to be lowered. SCARA robots are used for jobs that require exact lateral movements.
Covering some necessary applications and system technologies that may help perceive how industrial robots management units are architected. ActiNav ActiNav™ combines intelligent imaginative and prescient, real-time autonomous movement management and Universal Robots’ world-leading cobots to deliver the core of a machine loading system. Whether used for easy bin choosing tasks or extra complicated machine tending functions, ActiNav delivers an answer that’s exact, consistent, intuitive and more agile than ever earlier than. The first prototype, Unimate, was produced in 1961 and put in in GM's manufacturing unit for die casting handling and spot welding.
In different industries, similar to agriculture, robotic drones can look at a subject to search out deficiencies in crops. They can analyze the water and dryness ranges whereas determining the ripeness of the products. Mobile robots and drones monitor oil and gas pipelines and electric transmission systems performing common inspection and on the lookout for indicators of upkeep wants, to efficiently dispatch maintenance teams. Robotic selecting and packaging will increase velocity and accuracy together with decreasing production prices.
The ability to preview the habits of a robotic system in a virtual world permits for quite so much of mechanisms, devices, configurations and controllers to be tried and examined before being utilized to a "actual world" system. Robotics simulators have the flexibility to provide real-time computing of the simulated motion of an industrial robot using both geometric modeling and kinematics modeling. They are one of the first robots to have been used in industrial functions.
And with six degrees of freedom, incredible flexibility, and easy integration into current manufacturing environments, our collaborative robots are built to do more. The Silver Arm was created by MIT's David Silver to carry out precise assembly using touch and pressure sensors and a microcomputer. During that same 12 months, these arms led to Victor Scheinman, the inventor of the Stanford Arm, to kind Vicarm, Inc. to fabricate industrial robotic arms. Scheinman was instrumental within the creation of the PUMA for Unimation. Innovators have created robots that mimic the movements of canines, cats, bugs, and people with eerie precision.
AI will reshape the capabilities of robotic technology, however that is nonetheless no much less than a decade in the future. With wherever from two to 10 joints, articulated robots are related to the bottom with a twisting joint. Resembling a human arm, they are generally utilized in packaging, portray, metallic casting and different industrial purposes. Sep 29, 2021 — A push to automate is changing the way people and machines work collectively. The number of industrial robots installed in factories reached about 3 million units worldwide in 2020 – more than doubling in ten years. The IFR has researched how robotics training shapes present and future workforce schooling, enhancing expertise development for employees.
As China works to meet up with its international friends, the robotics market may see sturdy development for a few years to come back. RIA has transformed into the Association for Advancing Automation, the leading world automation commerce association of the robotics, machine vision, motion control, and industrial AI industries. FANUC provides the widest collection range of commercial robots on the earth. Covering a diverse range of purposes and industries, FANUC machines are straightforward to operate and provide full flexibility.
But it wasn't until the Sixties that industrial robots had been introduced to the automotive manufacturing ground of an meeting plant. In the context of general robotics, most kinds of industrial robots would fall into the class of robot arms. Typical purposes of business robots include welding, portray, ironing, assembly, decide and place, palletizing, product inspection, and testing, all achieved with high endurance, velocity, and precision.
Most of the older robot-controllers cannot be used for these strategies of manufacturing automation. The common lifetime of the robotic mechanics is, relying from the economic use between 10 and 20 years. Until now there was only the chance to disassemble and sell the mechanical components as spare elements. The first successful story of a enterprise creating a selected robot based mostly on their needs was created in 1967.
With 18 series of models, FANUC offers the widest vary of industrial robots on the earth. With more than a hundred fashions, FANUC provides the widest vary of commercial robots on the planet. Infineon’s elements and system options are well fitted to industrial robots as a whole. Power digital parts, similar to IGBTs and CoolSIC™ MOSFETs, including becoming EiceDRIVER™ gate driver solutions throughout numerous power ranges, support a extensive range of robotic payloads. CoolMOS™ and CoolSIC™ MOSFETs, and auxiliary power supply options similar to CoolSET™ allow energy management. PSoC® microcontrollers, with their big selection of performance, are applicable for system management and are additionally equipped with peripherals to allow connectivity through CAN, USB, or Wi-Fi based on the AIROC™ Wi-Fi & Combos providing.
Benefit from a quick ROI thanks to low-cost parts from main manufacturers. The TI-RSLK MAX comes with 20 learning modules covering core to supplemental topics with lecture videos, lab demonstrations, quizzes and classroom activities. The curriculum is targeted to show embedded methods and functions and can be expanded and used in a big selection of engineering courses at any level along a college student’s learning journey. Universal Robots could hold observe of my name and business contact info to e mail me exciting updates in factory automation which would possibly be related to me.
It's using exponential know-how curves in associated industries to robots so as to drive adoption. It's hard to drive expertise innovation within an industry-but whenever you adopt applied sciences from "exterior" industries, opportunities are limitless. At their core, robots still do the mundane, monotonous and time-consuming tasks staff do not take pleasure in whereas offering invaluable data to improve operations. Without sensors and different latest advancements, none of this is ready to be potential. Artificial intelligence , of course, is a key a half of the dialog.
Manufacturing Industrial Robots
Automate repetitive duties and take the ergonomic pressure off staff with an array of commercial robots from Raymond and Bastian Solutions. Talk to us about customizing an answer to help streamline your distinctive pallet assembly and disassembly purposes. Just because the name suggests, cylindrical robots have a cylindrical work area. They function a robotic arm that's connected to a base via a single joint, with one more linear joint connecting the arm’s links visit site.
A second type of singularity in wrist-partitioned vertically articulated six-axis robots occurs when the wrist middle lies on a cylinder that is centered about axis 1 and with radius equal to the gap between axes 1 and four. Some robot manufacturers also mention alignment singularities, the place axes 1 and 6 turn into coincident. When the robotic passes near a shoulder singularity, joint 1 spins very fast. Repeatability is usually crucial criterion for a robotic and is just like the concept of 'precision' in measurement—see accuracy and precision. ISO 9283 units out a method whereby both accuracy and repeatability can be measured.
Tumblr media
Many of probably the most oppressive and routine workplace chores—those that are dirty, dull, or dangerous—are now entirely within the robot realm. But because of current technologic advances, robots are also handling more complex operations that require extreme precision. For example, robots with laser-vision techniques can match doorways exactly to automotive bodies. These improvements, combined with several financial forces, are prompting companies to contemplate industrial robots extra significantly. The Silver Arm was created by MIT's David Silver to perform exact meeting using contact and stress sensors and a microcomputer.
Collaborative and traditional industrial robots © IFR International Federation of Robotics For more data, please refer to the IFR Positioning Paper on Demystifying Collaborative Robots and case studies. FANUC’s new SCARA robots are ideal for high-speed, precision applications corresponding to meeting, pick and place, testing/inspection, dispensing and packaging processes. It may be that when informed to go to a sure X-Y-Z place that it gets solely to inside 1 mm of that place. But if that position is taught into controller reminiscence and each time it is despatched there it returns to inside zero.1mm of the taught place then the repeatability will be inside zero.1mm. The cylindrical coordinate robots are characterised by their rotary joint at the base and a minimal of one prismatic joint connecting its hyperlinks.
How the robot interacts with other machines within the cell should be programmed, each with regard to their positions in the cell and synchronizing with them. Power source – some robots use electric motors, others use hydraulic actuators. Nowadays, it is extremely unlikely to see any hydraulic robots available in the market.
The automotive manufacturing industry has long been one of many quickest and largest adopters of commercial robotic expertise, and that continues to today. Robots are used in nearly each part of automotive manufacturing in one way or another, and it stays as one of the most highly automated supply chains on the planet. The report was produced as part of the MIT Work of the Future initiative. Worker resistance has not seemed to play an enormous role in slowing adoption of business robots, according to MIT.
This company developed a robot to complete a spray painting utility and finally turned ABB. This is only one example of when giant companies began to develop their own industrial robots. The first prototype, Unimate, was produced in 1961 and put in in GM's factory for die casting dealing with and spot welding.
The most deployed kind of robots within the manufacturing sector include gantry robots, which move alongside a single axis, and SCARA robots, which are able to shifting alongside three axes. Among the most recent types of robots, both exoskeletons and collaborative robots are designed to work in close proximity to people. Infineon’s components and system options are properly suited for industrial robots as a whole. Power digital elements, similar to IGBTs and CoolSIC™ MOSFETs, including becoming EiceDRIVER™ gate driver options throughout varied energy ranges, help a extensive range of robotic payloads. CoolMOS™ and CoolSIC™ MOSFETs, and auxiliary power supply solutions corresponding to CoolSET™ allow energy management.
However, they'd zero external sensing and were used for easy tasks such as pick and place. Spot welding joins two contacting metal surfaces by directing a big present via the spot, which melts the steel and forms the weld delivered to the spot in a really quick time . How sensible, connected robots are reworking manufacturing © IFRFor extra info, please check with the IFR Information Paper on How Connected Robots are Transforming Manufacturing.
This means they can produce high-quality products with little variation and greater consistency than their human counterparts. Here is a brief overview of how robotics in manufacturing are being used to vary the industry panorama by increasing productivity and precision while defending staff from unsafe working environments. With greater than 250 software features for enhanced intelligence, motion, safety and productiveness and a wide variety of FANUC high quality accessories, we now have an answer for almost every conceivable utility. The area of commercial robotics may be extra virtually outlined as the study, design and use of robotic techniques for manufacturing (a top-level definition counting on the prior definition of robot).
FANUC robots are easy to function and supply full flexibility due to a variety of application-specific choices, easy integration, payloads up to 2,300kg and most reaches as much as 4.7m. Fully autonomous robots in manufacturing are generally needed for high-volume, repetitive processes — where the speed, accuracy and sturdiness of a robot provides unparalleled advantages. Other manufacturing automation solutions include robots used to assist folks with extra intricate tasks. The robot executes elements of the method corresponding to lifting, holding and shifting heavy items. As extra companies are seeing the worth of robotics, the variety of industrial robots installed worldwide is estimated to extend to 2.6 million units by 2019.
When it involves purchase concerns, component price is mostly not a high concern when firms are shopping for finish effectors. This is very true for automotive OEMs that will incur high interruption prices if their production strains are down. Since grippers and EOATs account for around three % of the total value of automation, the choice of a high-priced provider will have relatively little influence on a company’s production-line prices.
Automation in manufacturing is extremely cost-effective for corporations of all sizes. Rather than outsourcing jobs abroad, smaller corporations can use robots to perform chosen tasks at a decrease price and with greater quality results than with outsourced workers. This may be stunning, since smaller manufacturing companies may assume that buying robotics is an costly funding. While the preliminary price could also be steep, the advantages can save manufacturers hundreds of dollars in reduced costs and improved productiveness.
Automation was achieved using punched paper tape to energise solenoids, which would facilitate the movement of the crane's control levers. The variety of motor revolutions required for every desired motion was first plotted on graph paper. This info was then transferred to the paper tape, which was also driven by the robotic's single motor. They are one of many first robots to have been used in industrial functions. They are commonly used for machine tending in die-casting, plastic injection and extrusion, and for welding. While there are many robotic functions to select from inside the industry, there are 6 that stand out as the most common and most precious purposes available on the market.
Accuracy may be improved with exterior sensing for example a vision system or Infra-Red. Accuracy can vary with velocity and position within the working envelope and with payload . This could additionally be outlined when it comes to the angular or linear velocity of every axis or as a compound pace i.e. the velocity of the tip of the arm when all axes are shifting. Delta robots are particularly helpful for direct control tasks and high maneuvering operations (such as quick pick-and-place tasks).
Concurrently, the robotic retains inventory on missing, mispriced or misplaced stock. But sooner or later, autonomous robots will work in all aspects of retail, from the warehouse to supply. These robotic arms can have a mess of sensors and imaginative and prescient systems able to viewing photographs to help with their computer-based control. That sensor and imaginative and prescient feedback can be utilized with with synthetic intelligence to make choices about the conduct of the robotic arm.
Alex Owen-Hill is a contract author and public speaker who blogs about a massive range of topics, together with science, presentation expertise at CreateClarifyArticulate.com, storytelling and robotics. He completed a PhD in Telerobotics from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid as part of the PURESAFE project, in collaboration with CERN. As a recovering academic, he maintains a firm foot in the robotics world by running a blog about industrial robotics. This is necessary because it allows producers to maintain their operations in the U.S and still compete within the world market. In reality, automation is changing into increasingly necessary for firms who wish to create more jobs in the U.S and stay competitive.
They may make the most of various sensors to help the robotic system in finding, handling, and positioning products. Industrial robotics took off quite rapidly in Europe, with each ABB Robotics and KUKA Robotics bringing robots to the market in 1973. ABB Robotics introduced IRB 6, among the many world's first commercially available all electric micro-processor managed robotic. The first two IRB 6 robots have been bought to Magnusson in Sweden for grinding and sprucing pipe bends and were installed in production in January 1974. Also in 1973 KUKA Robotics constructed its first robotic, known as FAMULUS, additionally one of the first articulated robots to have six electromechanically pushed axes.
Typically a robotic is shipped to a taught place numerous occasions and the error is measured at every return to the position after visiting 4 other positions. Repeatability is then quantified using the usual deviation of these samples in all three dimensions. A typical robotic can, after all make a positional error exceeding that and that might be a problem for the method. Moreover, the repeatability is completely different in different elements of the working envelope and likewise changes with velocity and payload. ISO 9283 specifies that accuracy and repeatability should be measured at most pace and at maximum payload. But this results in pessimistic values whereas the robotic could probably be rather more correct and repeatable at light hundreds and speeds.
The high-power pulsed laser cleaning process relies on the characteristics of the optical pulse generated by the fiber laser, and is based on the photophysical reaction formed by the interaction between the high-intensity beam, the short-pulse laser, and the pollution layer. The physical principles can be summarized as follows:
1. The beam emitted by the laser is absorbed by the pollution layer on the surface to be treated;
2. Absorption of large energy forms a rapidly expanding plasma (a highly ionized unstable gas), which generates shock waves;
3. The shock wave turns pollutants into fragments and is removed;
4. The light pulse width must be short enough to avoid heat accumulation that damages the processed surface;
5. When there is oxide on the metal surface, plasma is generated on the metal surface.
